Alexander McQueen

Deborah Milner has enjoyed a close working relationship with Alexander McQueen for many years, creating showpieces and commissions for many catwalk shows and special projects. Deborah’s first McQueen commission was to construct the Geisha-style outfit for the cover of Bjork’s 1997 album, Homogenic, which was photographed by Nick Knight.

In 2004, Deborah worked with McQueen, as senior pattern cutter, on his AW 04/05 collection, using her talent for cutting beautiful, architectural shapes to create show-stopping finale pieces and, thereafter, working freelance on many of McQueen’s shows including his ground-breaking penultimate show, Plato’s Atlantis.

In 2009, Deborah collaborated with McQueen on the ballet, Eonnagata, which involved working closely with Sylvie Guillem, Robert Lepage and Russell Maliphant to create their costumes.

Deborah continues to work as a consultant to McQueen on Couture.
